Self-Authored Human

I have been thinking about the concept of what it means to be a self-authored human.

There are two kinds of people: People who are writing their own story and those who are merely reporting on the narrative they have been given.

Think of one person you know who is the author of their own story and another one who is at the effect of their story; it doesn't take much to see that these are two very different lives.

If you have been watching my videos and reading my articles, then you probably know that I came to a flashpoint point in my career, where I decided to go from being just a game-piece on the corporate monopoly board to being the driver of my own destiny.

If you're one of those people who feels like a tiny cog inside of a giant machine, repeating the same motions over and over and knowing that your life should be worth more... then perhaps it's time to disrupt that pattern.

And it's easier than you think because it simply starts by introducing new conversations into your awareness... As Einstein said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them."

What I love about the people in biotech (an industry I have spent 20+ years working in) is that there is so much passion for solving challenging problems, saving lives, and not giving up in the face of adversity and setbacks. I deeply admire all the people working to be a part of the solution.

For what you do, you should have a life that you love. You should feel happy, healthy, and living a life full of purpose.

If you know you're driving yourself to burn out or feel yourself in a rut, then maybe it's time for a conversation about how you can break the patterns, see what's possible, and have a life that feels vital and alive.

Helping people in biotech is part of my own self-authored story, and it fills me with so much joy to be on this path.
