Life in Technicolor

Have you ever had one of those moments where you looked around your life and realized the technicolor sense of aliveness you once knew now seems drab, gray, and monotone?

It is not time to panic. No one spends their entire lives in a state of perma-bliss. But it also doesn’t mean that we have to just wait and hope that some unicorn driving a magic bus will one day show up and offer us a ride.

The reality is that sometimes we get stuck behind windows, in offices, at desks, and on screens. Most people don’t realize that our environment, our conversations, and the language we use with ourselves create the foundation of our reality... and when we start to change those things, we begin to change our reality.

When I was 7 years old, I became fascinated by painting imaginatively detailed images of rooms that evoked different emotional states for people who entered them. I did this for years in my childhood and ever since had a sense that we could create the environment for ourselves to thrive within.

I am still that same kid with that same fascination. It’s just more refined today.

A client of mine who is a senior finance leader never thought he could get to the CFO level, but by shifting his inner and outer environment, he is now seeing a path to that reality that he had never seen before.

Examples like this happen all the time. You can even hear them unfold on my podcast, The Virtual Campfire

What would it be like for you if what feels dreary, drab, or monotone got replaced with green, fresh and vibrant colors?

Believe it or not, it comes down to nothing other than a choice to shift up your environment, your conversations, and your internal language. Let’s find your inspiration.
