Draw Inspiration From The World Around You

This photo is from the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, La Jolla, California, and is an exhibit of Dale Chihuly's glass sculpture installation called The Sun and Black Niijima Floats.

Some of you might know this already, but I am a massive fan of the art of glass-blowing, and I have tried my hand at it a few times. Chihuly is one of my favorite glass artists because he effortlessly unites color, light, form, and space to deliver uniquely immersive experiences. Chihuly has completed ambitious architectural artwork installations all over the world that are inspired by a lifelong interest in architecture and gardens.

He draws inspiration from the world around him, using color and form to capture the imagination and catapult beyond conventional ideas of function and beauty. Now THAT is something we should all learn to do!
